Job completed for Mark K. - Randolph, NJ - Water Damage
Completion date: March 28, 2025
Location: Randolph, NJ
Why did the customer contact us?
Mark from Randolph, NJ contacted PDQ Restoration after discovering bubbling paint and soft spots along the baseboard in his dining room. At first, he thought it might just be humidity-related, but over time the damage became more pronounced. A musty smell began to linger, and mold spots appeared near the molding. Concerned about what might be hiding behind the walls, Mark turned to PDQ for expert water damage restoration to uncover the issue and stop it from spreading further through his Randolph home.
Solutions provided:
Upon arrival, our technicians conducted a thorough moisture inspection using infrared imaging and moisture meters. We discovered a slow, ongoing leak from a copper pipe hidden behind the molding and drywall in the dining room. Because the leak had gone unnoticed for some time, the water had saturated the lower portion of the wall, insulation, and flooring. To contain the affected area and prevent mold spores from circulating, we established a containment zone with plastic sheeting and applied negative air pressure to the Randolph dining room.
We carefully removed the molding and opened the wall to access the leaking pipe, which we then repaired. Damaged drywall, insulation, and trim were removed, and all affected areas were dried using commercial-grade dehumidifiers and air movers. Antimicrobial solutions were applied to sanitize and eliminate any mold or bacteria present. Throughout the restoration process, we conducted daily moisture checks to ensure everything was thoroughly dried before repairs began.
By the time the job was complete, Mark’s Randolph, NJ dining room was fully restored—dry, clean, and mold-free. We also assisted him with the insurance claims process by providing all documentation and photos of the damage. PDQ Restoration was proud to help protect another Randolph home from hidden water damage, restoring not just the space but also peace of mind.
