Job completed for Danielle H. - Ramsey, NJ - Fire Damage

Completion date: June 1, 2025

Location: Ramsey, NJ

Solutions provided:

When Danielle H. of Ramsey accidentally ignited a trash fire in her attached garage, the flames quickly consumed stored items and scorched the surrounding structure. Though the fire was extinguished before reaching the main home, the garage sustained significant fire and smoke damage, requiring an emergency board-up by PDQ Restoration to secure the property. Fire damage in Ramsey included burnt framing, smoke-damaged drywall, and soot-covered ceilings. The incident originated from improperly discarded combustibles, which ignited and spread rapidly through cluttered storage. The fire damage cleanup and restoration were fully covered by the homeowner’s insurance policy.

PDQ Restoration’s fire damage team in Ramsey began by boarding up all damaged access points to stabilize and secure the garage. Soot and debris were removed, and damaged materials were stripped to expose the underlying structure for cleaning and deodorization. Smoke odor removal and duct system inspection were carried out to ensure contaminants had not spread into the main house. Air scrubbers and negative air machines were used to control indoor air quality throughout the fire restoration process in Ramsey. After the structure was cleaned and prepped, the garage was deemed safe for rebuild, with all fire damage professionally mitigated and documented.
