Job completed for Eric N. - Ringwood, NJ - Fire Damage
Completion date: May 31, 2025
Location: Ringwood, NJ
Solutions provided:
When Eric N. experienced an HVAC unit fire in the attic of his Ringwood home, the fire department quickly contained the blaze, but not before smoke and soot spread throughout the upper floor. The fire was traced back to a short in the attic’s HVAC system, which ignited nearby insulation and structural wood. PDQ Restoration arrived onsite shortly after the fire was extinguished to assess the fire damage and begin emergency response. The attic in Ringwood sustained heavy soot accumulation and smoke odor that penetrated into the duct system and surrounding rooms. The fire damage restoration was covered by insurance, allowing PDQ Restoration to move forward without delay.
Technicians from PDQ Restoration in Ringwood began by removing charred insulation and cleaning fire-damaged surfaces in the attic. Smoke odor removal was critical due to the widespread HVAC-related distribution of particulates. Thermal fogging and ozone treatments were performed throughout the attic and adjacent rooms to neutralize persistent smoke odors. Air scrubbers were set up to capture airborne contaminants while duct system smoke removal was conducted to prevent recirculation of soot. The fire restoration process in Ringwood concluded with structural cleaning, HEPA vacuuming, and sealing of exposed wood to encapsulate any residual odor. Within days, the affected areas were fully deodorized and prepared for repairs.
