Job completed for Jennifer K. - Parsippany, NJ - Water Damage

Completion date: March 26, 2025

Location: Parsippany, NJ

Why did the customer contact us?

Jennifer from Parsippany, NJ contacted PDQ Restoration after waking up to find her entire basement flooded following a night of heavy rainfall. A sump pump failure had allowed several inches of water to accumulate, submerging furniture, boxes, electronics, and storage bins. With so many belongings at risk and standing water continuing to rise, Jennifer urgently needed expert help to begin water extraction and protect her home from long-term moisture damage.

Solutions provided:

Our PDQ Restoration team arrived quickly at her Parsippany home and got to work by performing a detailed damage assessment. The basement, which was packed with personal items and stored contents, required careful sorting and removal. We began by extracting the standing water using high-powered pumps and portable water vacuums. At the same time, we sorted salvageable versus unsalvageable items, creating a detailed inventory to assist with Jennifer’s insurance claim. The affected contents were cleaned, sanitized, and moved to a dry area for further evaluation.

Once the bulk of the water was removed, we deployed industrial air movers and dehumidifiers throughout the Parsippany basement to aggressively dry out the space. Moisture meters were used to detect hidden wet spots behind walls and under flooring. All wet surfaces were cleaned and treated with antimicrobial solutions to prevent mold growth and bacterial contamination. Given the heavy water saturation, we also removed portions of damaged drywall and baseboards to allow proper airflow and prevent structural issues.

By the end of the project, Jennifer’s Parsippany, NJ basement was dry, clean, and fully restored. We helped her navigate the insurance process with complete documentation, making a stressful situation much easier to manage. Thanks to PDQ’s rapid response and thorough content management, Jennifer’s home and belongings were saved from serious water damage—and we were proud to be there when Parsippany needed us most.
