Job completed for Lindsey P. - Wanaque, NJ - Fire Damage
Completion date: September 27, 2025
Location: Wanaque, NJ
Solutions provided:
A ceiling light fixture in Lindsey P.’s home in Wanaque, NJ malfunctioned and ignited a small electrical fire that scorched the living room ceiling, damaged insulation, and filled the upper wall cavity with smoke. The fire was quickly extinguished, but not before causing visible charring and smoke staining across the ceiling surface. PDQ Fire & Water Damage Restoration arrived to begin the fire restoration process, starting with emergency debris removal and soot damage cleanup. In Wanaque, fire damage from electrical fixtures often impacts both drywall and insulation, requiring removal and deodorization to eliminate smoke odor. Lindsey’s homeowner’s insurance covered the fire restoration under her fire damage insurance claim in Wanaque, which included demolition and cleaning.
The Wanaque fire damage cleanup included removal of smoke-damaged drywall, burned insulation, and cleanup of fine soot particles spread through the room. Technicians set up HEPA air scrubbers and performed duct system smoke removal to prevent lingering odor throughout the home. In many Wanaque cases, smoke odor removal requires thermal fogging and ozone treatment after surface cleaning is complete. PDQ treated exposed framing with specialized cleaners to remove char and smoke residue. Moisture levels were monitored as part of the fire damage restoration to confirm there was no secondary water damage from suppression efforts. Lindsey’s Wanaque home was then prepped for ceiling repair, new insulation installation, and full restoration of the affected living space.
